History of Howebuilt

Our History

Our three generation family run company was started in June of 1947 in Sacramento, CA by Walter Howe. The company, then called Walter N. Howe Construction, flourished while building an outstanding reputation due to Walter’s attention to detail, efficiency, and customer service.

In 1969, the company expanded to the Lake Tahoe basin as Howe Construction. Pete, Walter’s son, began building luxury homes, apartment buildings, and light commercial buildings throughout the Sierra Mountains and along the shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe. The reputation Howe Construction, Inc. built was unprecedented. The name Howe Construction, Inc. was and still is associated with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship with outstanding customer service.

In 1985, the company added the trademark Howebuilt and moved “down the hill” from Lake Tahoe to Dayton, Nevada, just east of Carson City and south of Reno, Nevada. Pete’s sons David and Michael have  joined Walter and Pete making this a three generation family business. Since the move to Nevada, Howe Construction, Inc./Howebuilt has built, along with the help of some great employees and sub-contractors, over 800 homes throughout the Incline Village, Lake Tahoe, Reno, Carson City, Minden, and Dayton areas.

Our superb reputation of building beautiful and remodeling homes and commercial buildings of quality materials, top notch workmanship, and exceptional customer service remains strong as it has since Walter started in 1947.

We at Howe Construction, Inc. are proud of our great reputation and will continue working diligently on behalf of our customers. We know that a happy and satisfied customer will lead to many more in the future.
